Island Style Massage
This is an exquisite massage based on traditional Hawaiian techniques. Long luxurious stokes work the body from feet to head. This massage is like a dance. It is all about flow and movement and rhythm. (It is not intended as a hard massage, those that want something with more intensity should choose the deep tissue rhythmic massage, and for spasms and particular areas of discomfort, the sports massage.)
What does reflexology do?
Reflexology has proven to be extremely effective in relief from:
Pain, arthritis, backache, stress, headaches and migraines, mild depression, eczema and other skin disorders, menopause, digestive problems, allergies, asthma and many other ailments.
How does it work?
The reflexologies works by stimulating reflex points in the feet. This creates a healing response the rest of the body, stimulating the body’s own natural healing system and returning the body to equilibrium.
You will be amazed at what the feet tell you about the state of various parts of your body. While the reflexologist is not allowed to diagnose, he is able to identify and work on problem areas during the treatment.
Can Reflexology do any harm?
No Reflexology cannot harm you.
BUT, as with several other natural therapies like homeopathy and acupuncture, there is often a worsening of symptoms before they get better, after a reflexology session, . The reason for this is that reflexology is creating a reaction within your own body which leads to the healing that takes place. It is a kind of a jump start of your bodies own healing system.
How many sessions should you do?
How many session you do will depend on what your purpose is for the treatment. As a general relaxation and stress relief therapy, you can use sessions individually as you desire.
If you would like to use reflexology as a stress maintenance treatment, we recommend you come on a regular basis - once a week, to once a month throughout the year.
If you are wanting work on a particular illness, we recommend 8-10 sessions done once weekly
