Things You’ll Need:

  • Six lemons
  • Eucalyptus oil, or essential oil containing eucalyptus
  • Mucus-cleansing tea
  • Herbal laxative tea
  • Juicer and ingredients for potassium juice (if available)
  • Noni juice (if juicing is not possible)
  • Spring water
  • Carrot juice

Liquid assets

  1. Step 1

Remove all dairy products two days before you begin your cleanse. Dairy products may interfere with the detoxification process, as they are slowly digested by the body. Your body must rid itself of any toxins from too much dairy products before you begin cleansing your lungs.

  1. Step 2

Drink 1cup of herbal laxative (eg: Black Forest) tea before you go to bed the evening before Day 1 of your 3-day cleanse. This will rid your system of any toxins in your intestines that may tend to constipate you. Your lungs must not be overworked by blockages anywhere in the body during your detoxification.

  1. Step 3

Squeeze two whole lemons into a cup to a cup1/2 of water before you eat breakfast. This will prepare you to digest powerful alkalizing foods that will help your lungs regenerate themselves.

  1. Step 4

Drink 1.5 cups of purge grapefruit juice with breakfast. If you do not enjoy the taste of grapefruit juice, dilute it with a bottle of spring water or substitute with pineapple juice. These juices contain natural antioxidants that promote a healthy respiratory system.

  1. Step 5

Drink 1 to 1.5 cups of pure carrot juice between breakfast and lunch. Carrot juice will help you alkalize your blood during your 3-day detox. Because of its beta-carotene content, which the body turns into Vitamin A, carrot juice aids in a clean and healthy respiratory system.

  1. Step 6

Drink one 1.5 cups of potassium juice with lunch. Potassium is a powerful agent that will act as a cleansing tonic when ingested in liquid form. Creating a potassium juice involves juicing carrots, celery, spinach, parsley and sea greens. If you don’t have a juicer, simply mix 50ml of Noni juice with an 1 cup of spring water. Noni juice can be purchased from most health-food stores. There are several brands of Noni on the market. It is important to buy pure Noni juice. Tree of Life is one of the few companies that offers pure Noni juice.

  1. Step 7

Prepare and drink 1 cup of mucus-cleansing tea 1 hour before dinner. Mucus-cleansing tea is rich in rose hips, ginger and peppermint. These herbs help alleviate stuffy noses, mucus build-up and congestion. Cleansing tea is readily available in most supermarkets and health-food stores.

  1. Step 8

Drink 340ml. of pure cranberry juice before bed. Cranberry juice helps fight off bacteria in the lungs that could cause infections. Cranberries are very powerful antioxidants and promote healthy blood and urine.

Body Care and Exercise

  1. Step 1

Sit in a sauna for at least 20 minutes each day of your cleanse. If a sauna is not available, take a 20-minute hot bath. It is important to allow your body to lose as many toxins through perspiration as possible. A sauna or bath will promote excess perspiration and allow your lungs, sinuses and nose to rid themselves of mucus build-up.

  1. Step 2

Walking promotes healthy breathing.

Take a brisk walk at least once a day. Walking promotes healthy breathing. While walking, concentrate on taking slow, full breaths. Maintain a rhythm, exhaling slowly.

  1. Step 3

Place 5 to 10 drops of eucalyptus oil into 2 qts. of hot water. Drape a dry hand towel over the back of your head and slowly inhale the steam until the water is no longer hot. The oil’s properties and steam will help loosen mucus.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consult with your doctor or health-care professional before making dietary or lifestyle changes.
  • Always drink pure cranberry and carrot juice. Avoid drinks that are made with sugar and other additives.
  • If you feel faint during baths, saunas, walks or essential-oil treatments, stop and drink a large glass of spring water. Contact your doctor if the symptoms don’t subside.
  • If you are cleansing your lungs because you have a cold or respiratory infection, avoid taking a brisk walk and get plenty of rest.
  • Refrain from smoking during your cleansing period. If you are unable to stop for 3 days, contact your doctor, pharmacist or health-food-store professional. There are several natural methods to reduce or quit smoking.
  • Refrain from caffeine while cleansing the lungs.

Cleansing the Pancreas:

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Multi-vitamin
  • Computer with Internet access
  • Herbal supplements
  • Water
  • Loofah sponge

Plan Your Pancreas Cleanse

  1. Step 1

Consider performing a colon cleanse or parasite cleanse before you begin your pancreas cleanse for the best results. The pancreas is particularly vulnerable to parasitic infections.

  1. Step 2

Decide upon a specific pancreas cleansing product, or a mixture of herbal supplements, to accompany the foods that will assist in your cleanse. Many herbal programs are fairly inexpensive, considering the health benefits you may achieve.

  1. Step 3

Choose a period of time where you can perform your pancreas cleanse without disrupting your normal routines, especially if you choose to do a colon or parasitic cleanse first. These cleanses can cause gastric distress and abnormal bowel movements.

  1. Step 4

Pick a multi-vitamin, as recommended by your doctor, to take during your pancreas cleanse. Many vitamins are important to maintaining proper pancreatic health.

  1. Step 5

Learn more about how to do a cleanse at SnyderHealth.com (see Resources below).

Do Your Pancreatic Cleanse

  1. Step 1

Drink at least 7 to 10 glasses, each 8 oz., of water every day of your pancreas cleanse.

  1. Step 2

Integrate herbs, such as golden seal, juniper berries, uva ursi leaves, comfrey root, huckleberry, mullein leaves and yarrow, into your cleanse. These herbs all assist in proper pancreatic health.

  1. Step 3

Take at least 1 hot shower a day. Scrub your skin vigorously with a loofah sponge. This will help with blood circulation and will aid in dispelling harmful toxins from your body.

  1. Step 4

Exercise at least 45 minutes every day. Perform relaxation techniques, like deep breathing exercises, in order to help toxins exit the body through the sweat glands and lungs.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always consult with your physician before attempting any kind of body cleanse or fasting procedure, especially if you’re receiving treatment or taking prescription medicine for a specific medical condition. Some natural supplements can interact negatively with prescription drugs.
  • Be prepared to stop the pancreatic cleanse immediately and seek medical help if you feel severe side effects such as dizziness, nausea or abdominal pain.

Cleansing the Colon:

  • Epsom salts
  • Pot
  • Cooking thermometer
  1. Step 1

Put 2 quarts of water into a pot.

  1. Step 2

Add 2 tbsp. Epsom salt and stir.

  1. Step 3

Heat the water and salt mixture to 102 degrees Fahrenheit, making sure that the salt on the bottom of the pot is fully dissolved.

  1. Step 4

Add the mixture to an enema bag and administer.

  1. Step 5

The salt-and-water mixture will naturally clean the colon without killing the natural flora in the colon.

Cleansing the Skin:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Plain yogurt
  • Unflavoured oatmeal
  • Baking soda
  • Cornmeal
  • Olive oil
  • Unflavoured honey
  • Green tea bags
  • Bottle of distilled water
  1. Step 1

Determine whether your skin is dry, normal or oily. While natural ingredients won’t generally damage any skin type, some will be more effective than others (depending on your skin’s natural texture).

  1. Step 2

Use plain yogurt as a gentle cleanser for normal to dry skin. If you suffer from extra-sensitive dry skin, mix the yogurt with cooked, unflavoured oatmeal to create a creamy paste. Dairy products are gentle and hydrating and oatmeal provides relief for sensitive, itchy skin.

  1. Step 3

Mix a small amount of cornmeal or baking soda into the yogurt or yogurt/oatmeal mixture to increase the exfoliating quality of your cleanser. Add the defoliant a little at a time until the cleanser takes on a light, grainy texture. Do not get carried away, though, as too much defoliant can damage sensitive skin.

  1. Step 4

Combat tight, aging skin with a cleanser made from equal parts of olive oil and honey, diluted with two parts distilled water. Mix the ingredients until they form a smooth liquid. Honey acts as a gentle antimicrobial and moisturizer, while olive oil provides deep hydration for the skin.

  1. Step 5

Cleanse oily skin with plain, distilled water or steeped green tea. Brew a natural, green tea bag in hot distilled water and allow the mixture to cool. Green tea contains polyphenols known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities.

  1. Step 6

Apply cleanser in gentle circles to selected skin areas. If you’re applying it to your face, do not pull on delicate skin around your eyes. For a deep cleanse, you may leave the mixture on for a few minutes, unless it contains an defoliant.

  1. Step 7

Rinse your skin with lukewarm water and pat dry. Apply a gentle, noncomedogenic moisturizer to increase hydration without oil build-up. If you have an oily skin type, use a gel- or lotion-type moisturizer rather than a heavy cream.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try dabbing honey on acne. Known as a gentle antiseptic, it helps heal blemishes and decreases the chance of scarring.
  • Freeze brewed green tea in an ice cube tray to use as a skin toner. Remove one cube and let it begin to thaw before applying it to sensitive skin.
  • Be careful when using natural cleansers if you have food allergies, particularly to dairy products, wheat or corn. While these natural ingredients are generally safe and effective for cleansing skin without removing natural oils, they could cause an allergic reaction if you have an existing sensitivity to the ingredients.

Cleansing the Brain:

Detox Cleanse for Brain Fog

Brain fog is a term used to describe impaired cognitive functioning. Many conditions can cause brain fog, such as hypothyroidism and chronic fatigue syndrome, making a formal diagnosis imperative in finding the right treatment. The use of herbs, nutritional supplements and other measures can help speed the removal of harmful substances from the body to potentially fight brain fog.

Detoxification Aids

  1. The liver’s ability to filter toxic substances is vital to the functioning of other organs, such as the brain. According to Umm.edu, milk thistle protects the liver from harmful toxins and may even help spur the growth of new liver cells. In addition to its diuretic properties, dandelion root helps stimulate the flow of bile in the liver and can be helpful during detoxification, especially when taken with milk thistle.

Supplements with diuretic and laxative properties help speed detoxification via the colon and urinary tract. Dandelion root, uva ursi and B-complex vitamins increase the production of urine, while psyllium seed, aloe Vera juice and senna help promote regular bowel movements.

Other herbs that may be beneficial during a detoxification regimen include garlic, burdock root and turmeric.

  2. Stimulants are substances that increase energy and alertness. Both yerba mate and green tea are valued for their gentle stimulant properties. They contain compounds called polyphenols, which can help prevent free radical damage in cells, according to NaturalNews.com. Korean ginseng and guarana are also popular for their stimulant properties.

While not actually a stimulant, gingko biloba can improve cognition via its circulatory effects. According to RxList.com, gingko may be effective in slowing the cognitive deficits caused by Alzheimer’s disease and aging. It is thought to work by increasing blood flow to the brain and other organs, thereby providing them with more oxygen. The recommended daily dose of gingko for improving cognitive functioning is 120 mg to 240 mg, according to Aafp.org.

  3. Eat plenty of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables during your detox, while avoiding heavy meals high in fat and refined carbohydrates. Some people choose to fast during detoxification, though it may not be safe or necessary for everyone.

Because the skin is the body’s largest organ of elimination, activities that increase perspiration are of great help in detoxification. Vigorous exercise and use of a sauna are two excellent ways to sweat out toxins that may be affecting brain function. Exfoliating after a workout or sauna session can help clear the skin’s top layers of toxins and dead cells.

  4. Some herbs and supplements can cause dangerous interactions when taken with certain medications. To avoid serious side effects, talk to your doctor before trying an at-home detox for brain fog.
